57 year old woman diagnosed with a right breast cancer, who wanted to be smaller. She underwent mastectomy only on the right side, and Dr. Hubert placed an initial tissue expander. Subsequent to that, Dr. Hubert exchanged the expander for a permanent silicone gel implant as an outpatient procedure. He also did a balancing breast reduction on the left, removing 667 g of tissue, at the same time. The good news is that, by law, insurance must cover balancing procedure for the opposite breast. The patient chose not to have surgical nipple reconstruction on the right.
