Fat Transfer Richmond
As a plastic surgeon, sometimes fat can be your friend. Some people develop areas of the body which are not as plump as they would like. In particular, many people want to have a fuller and more projecting butt. Other patients might have an indentation from prior liposuction. Taking fatty tissue from one part of the body and using is in another is known as “fat transfer,” and it can be very effective in improving your shape. The fat is carefully removed through tiny incisions, similar to liposuction. The living fat cells (adipocytes) are then placed where they are needed, to give that area a fuller, more plump appearance. The fat cells then become a living part of that new area. Because fat transfer uses your own tissues, it is done without using any kind of foreign materials you would have to worry about in the future, such as an implant.
Brazilian Butt Lift
When fat is transferred to correct a flattened buttock, this is sometimes called a “Brazilian butt lift.” The Brazilian butt lift also combines taking the fat from the lower back and the inner thighs, so that this sculpting improves the overall appearance of the buttock area even more. By adding your fat to the correct areas of your buttocks, it can help to give better projection, fill hollow areas, and get rid of a sagging appearance. All of this is done through tiny incisions with a minimal amount of scarring and a natural appearance.
What should I expect after surgery?
These procedures are usually done as outpatient surgery, so you go home the same day. After fat transfer or a Brazilian butt lift, you will wear a compression garment to keep the new fat in appropriate position until it heals. Antibiotics by mouth are taken, and for the Brazilian butt lift, you have to avoid sitting for at least two weeks (except for using the toilet). Bruising and mild to moderate pain are common but tend to go away on their own rather quickly.
