Lip Injections are composed of the same compounds that are found naturally found in your body. Using hyaluronic acid, the filler gives your lips added plumpness, making them appear fuller and more shapely than before.
With the use of the lip filler compound, you will be able to notice more volume, improve the structure of your lips, and improve the shape of your lips, making them more “pouty”.
Lip FIllers are fantastic for almost everyone but are ideal for anyone who wants to enhance the volume or shape of her lips without undergoing extensive surgery.
As one of the leading plastic surgery practices in RVA, we’ve seen thousands of non-surgical and surgical patients. Lip fillers can offer you a variety of benefits for your lips in addition to your overall well-being. Here are some of those benefits:
Full Control Over Lip Volume – You will be able to discuss how much volume you’d like to add with Dr. Hubert during your consultation. This will give you complete control over the size of your lips through the adjustment of filler according to your requirements.
Fewer Allergic Reactions- In the past, collagen-based dermal fillers from animals were used, but they tended to result in excessive inflammation and swelling around the lips. Now, thanks to the modern use of a form of hyaluronic acid, there are fewer adverse reactions.
Long-Lasting Results – Lip fillers can last up to almost a year in some patients, after which time your body will gently absorb the filler.
Achieving Your Desired Lip Look – Unlike surgery, lip fillers aren’t a one-and-done treatment. You can return to get additional lip filler as often as you’d like to add additional volume if you so desire.
The first step to getting lip fillers in RVA with Dr. Darrin Hubert is to book a consultation. During your appointment, you’ll be able to explain exactly what you’re hoping for with the treatment. Dr. Hubert will examine your lips and give you his recommendations. If you’re happy with expert opinion, we’ll be able to provide the treatment right then and there or book a time for you to come in that you’re more comfortable with.
Dr. Hubert will begin by applying a topical numbing agent to your lips, which will help reduce any possible discomfort at the site of the injections. Some patients may choose to have nerve blocks performed for the upper and/or lower lip with tiny injections similar to the dentist’s office. The nerve blocks can get your lips very numb. However, they will also affect your speech, and you can’t eat or drink anything for an hour or two until they wear off. Next, he will use a series of fine needles to inject the filling agent under your lips in a controlled and deliberate manner, which usually will take only a few minutes. You are awake the whole time. So Dr. Hubert can often show you the progress in the mirror to help judge when the right amount of correction has been achieved. Once Dr. Hubert is finished, you will be able to notice the effects of the filler immediately.
*We do advise our patients to avoid the use of lipstick or balm before their lip filler therapy.

You will be able to see the results of your treatment for several months, up to a year, depending on how your body receives the filler and the amount injected.
The cost of lip fillers in Richmond will vary depending on the amount you’re receiving. The hyaluronic acid (HA) comes in measured, pre-loaded syringes, usually 1 cc. You can’t reuse or share syringes, so it is important for Dr. Hubert to help you pick the right amount. But we won’t let any go to waste. Any leftover filler, after your lips are done, can be used elsewhere, for example in your cheeks or nasolabial folds. To get the most accurate cost, please contact our office.

Your Lip Filler Questions Answered
How often do I need lip fillers?
As often as you’d like. Due to the quick and simple nature of administering the Filler, you can repeat the procedure as frequently as you and Dr. Hubert agree upon during your consultation. Most patients tend to get treatments once or twice per year.
Are lip injections painful?
There is a small amount of discomfort associated with lip injections. However, the numbing cream definitely takes the edge off. Also, modern fillers are mixed with lidocaine as well, so it helps to numb the tissues as the filler is injected.
How long will lip fillers last?
On average, Lip Fillers can last between several months and almost a full year, but after your lips return to their natural state, you can easily and quickly get an appointment to get full lips again if you were satisfied with the results, or even speak with Dr. Hubert about adjusting the amount to give you an ideal appearance.
