Arm Lift Richmond
The natural aging process in the upper arm may result in sagging tissues which is especially apparent when you partially raise your arms above your head. This appearance is caused by excessive and loose skin, excessive fatty tissue under the skin, or a combination of both skin and fatty tissue. Brachioplasty, or upper arm lift, involves the surgical removal of this excess tissue and is sometimes combined with liposuction. As with other areas of plastic surgery, you can expect an improved shape at the expense of a scar. The scars are usually located either hidden in the armpit or along the inside of the upper arm, and for many people, they improve slowly over time. Upper arm lifts are usually done on an outpatient basis, and you may need to wear a special garment with sleeves or arm wraps for the initial post-operative period to keep the swelling down and promote appropriate healing.
