Breast Lift Richmond
As a woman ages, her breasts can acquire a sagging or drooping appearance due to the stretching of the skin and ligaments that support them. Additional factors which influence these changes include pregnancy and significant fluctuations in weight. Mastopexy, or breast lift surgery, helps restore the youthful appearance to the breast by tightening and reshaping the breast. It can also reduce the size of an over-stretched areola (the pigmented, darker portion surrounding the nipple). There are a variety of techniques available, depending on the shape of your breasts, overal body proportions, and your goals. A breast lift procedure does not result in a substantial change in the overall size (volume) of the breast, and if this is a concern, Dr. Hubert is happy to discuss either breast augmentation or reduction surgery as well. Women who are good candidates for a breast lift are at a stable weight and are bothered by the sagging of their breast tissue, which may cause the nipple to lie below the breast crease or even point downward. Smoking is strongly discouraged, as this may have a disastrous effect on your result. Breast lift surgery is performed as an outpatient, and you can expect to wear a fitted post-surgical bra during the recovery period.
