This patient’s breast cancer was on the right, and she underwent mastectomies on both sides, along with temporary tissue expander reconstruction. Radiation was required on the right. Once completed, both expanders were removed, replaced by DIEP flaps performed by Dr. Hubert. Nipple reconstruction was also performed. One can see the outline of the DIEP flap skin within the lower part of each breast. She had a history of thick (hypertrophic) scars, which can occur on the breasts as well.
