Breast Procedures
Patient 1
Case #3021

Individual results may vary.

Patient 2
Case #3025
46 year old woman with breast cancer on the left. She had chemotherapy before surgery. Her bra size was 36DDD, and she wanted to be smaller after her surgery. Dr. Hubert performed delayed DIEP flap reconstruction of both breasts after she had temporary tissue expanders at the time of mastectomy. She had one round of fat grafting, and nipple reconstruction with tattoos for the areolas. Note the result of her abdomen, similar to a tummy tuck.
Individual results may vary.

Patient 4
Case #3856
Right side breast cancer. This patient had nipple sparing mastectomies, and Dr. Hubert performed DIEP flap reconstruction of both breasts at the same time (called immediate reconstruction). Note the tiny skin islands (football-shaped) from each DIEP flap located just to the side of each areola. These are used to monitor the flaps after surgery by attaching the laser probe. Normally the skin islands are removed in a short, outpatient surgery. However, this patient declined removal. No radiation for this patient.

Patient 5
Case #3896
Patient with right side breast cancer. Initial reconstruction with tissue expanders performed by another surgeon, but the right side developed an infection which required removal. Dr. Hubert reconstructed both breasts with DIEP flaps. He then made new nipples with a short, outpatient procedure. The patient declined tattoos for the color of the areolas. No radiation for this patient.
Individual results may vary.

Patient 7
Case #3481
38 year old man in excellent physical shape with gynecomastia (male breast development). A breast surgeon had removed some of his breast tissue on both sides. However, he did not remove enough on the left, and this did not look good. Dr. Hubert corrected this by removing another 54 g of tissue from the left and restoring a balanced appearance.
Individual results may vary.

Case #3596
45 year old woman with a breast reduction in the past. Then she developed a right side breast cancer and had bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies and tissue expander placement. She did not require radiation. Dr. Hubert then performed DIEP flap breast reconstruction for both breasts.
Individual results may vary.

Patient 9
Case #3597
50 year old woman with implant reconstruction by another plastic surgeon. She developed capsular contracture (hardening of the breast) on the left after radiation and was referred to Dr. Hubert. He performed a DIEP flap reconstruction of the left breast only. This provided enough skin and tissue to resurface the left breast and locate the nipple in proper position. However, this thin patient did not have enough tummy tissue to match the other side. Therefore, Dr. Hubert added a 275 cc implant underneath the DIEP flap on the left. Notice the vastly improved balance between the breasts.
Individual results may vary.

Patient 10
Case #3598
Left side breast cancer, which also required radiation. Initial reconstruction with tissue expanders. However, the right side was removed due to infection. Dr. Hubert then reconstructed both breasts with DIEP flaps. She also underwent one round of fat grafting and liposuction of the flanks at the same time as nipple reconstruction. She declined areolar tattoos for the color.
Individual results may vary.
